BSU has been featured in Shanghai’s Global Times newspaper. We are gracious to Ms. Qi Xi Jia for taking the time to come and meet with us at our training base. We are gracious of what we are able to accomplish everyday and the many lives we have inspired. “The true purpose of the club according to the coach is to bring the children of Shanghai together and teach them values that they will carry on throughout their personal lives and careers.

BSU Presents: Interglobo

ESF Tigers

Interglobo is a privately owned, Italian International freight forwarding company.

Interglobo Far East born from Mr. Fabio Brassesco’s vision and leadership has been the first milestone for the Interglobo Group to enter the Asian Market. With branches in Ho Chi Minh City, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Shenzhen,Interglobo Far East has been facilitating the growing demand and peaking volumes of shipments originating from these gateways.

Interglobo has been providing sponsorship to youth sports teams around Asia, with focus on Basketball, Soccer, Swimming and Biathlon contestants. Interglobo gives participants a chance to travel around the world and compete in organized Tournament’s, while allowing the kids to do some sightseeing in their spare time and learn about the different cultures.

Such opportunities can be seen from their 2014 Basketball Christmas Tournament with the ESF Tigers. Based in Hong Kong, Interglobo and ESF (Educational Services) came together and organized a 2 Day Basketball Tournament that was hosted at the Kellet International School in Kowloon Bay on December 6th and December 7th. The games featured 12 Teams from 3 different countries coming together for an action packed weekend of Basketball.

In 2015, Interglobo and Basketball Stars United will be shining a new light on Basketball Tournaments hosted in Shanghai. With Interglobo’s wide international reach and BSU’s high quality basketball training methods, we look forward to branching out and giving our participants more opportunities to experience different cultures, see the world and fulfill their goals, while doing the sport they love.

BSU SAQ & Basketball October Camp

This past holiday, BSU’s 5-day camps at The British International School (BISS) and the newly opened Wellington International College Shanghai were graced with a hardworking turn out.

With intense focus and determination throughout training, the efforts of each and every one of our campers did not go unnoticed. Positive changes in their demeanors can already be seen! We would like to commend and congratulate everyone who took part in this camp!

To make things even more interesting, everyone who signed up had a chance to win 2 tickets to the 2014 NBA Global Games hosted in Shanghai with the Sacramento Kings and Brooklyn Nets. Our lucky winner was happy beyond belief!

Thanks to NBA China, each child has been rewarded with a ticket to join the NBA Fan Appreciation Day featuring the Sacramento Kings and Brooklyn Nets at the Mercedes-Benz Arena on October 10th, 2014!


BSU and the Shanghai Basketball Association present the 2013 Baoshan International Basketball Festival (October 26th & 27th).

This event includes music performance, carnival games with awesome prizes to win. This is a great opportunity to bring communities together and spend a great time with the family.

Boys & girls’ ages 8 to 18 years are welcome to join the Baoshan Cup; over 100 teams from around Shanghai will compete in the following disciplines: * “King of the Hill” 3X3 Basketball Tournament * Individual Skills Challenge * 3-point shooting Challenge * Free-throw Shooting Challenge  

Under 10, 12 and 14 tournaments will take place on October 26th,  Under 18 tournaments will take place on October 27th.

Put a team together (4 players max), choose your team name and sign up!

Refer to the players handbook and regulations. Fill in the registration form and  email it back. Participation fee: 150RMB per player, free entry for families & friends!



BSU is proud to announce that Coach Joel has become a member of the Basketball Association of Shanghai (SBA) under the direction of vice-president Yao Ming.

Coach Joel’s relationship with the Shanghai Sports Bureau began in 2012 as a coach for the girl’s junior elite basketball team. The sports administration was impressed by Coach Joel’s commitment and invited him to become the FIRST foreigner to join the association on Saturday, June 15th.

Coach Joel’s responsibility is to help carry out the decision of the board members: create more opportunities for youth of both foreign and expatriate communities to compete and play the game of basketball. We can all expect more excitement in the  2013-2014 basketball season!
